02/05/13 - New CDC Foundation Video!!! North Carolina restaurant and bar owners are finding that North Carolina’s smoke-free law has brought them – along with their employees and customers – many benefits. This CDC Foundation video shows three North Carolina restaurant/bar owners sharing their feedback on the benefits of the law. As they say, business has never been healthier. You can find the video on YouTube at the Smokefree Business channel.
As of January 2, 2010, restaurants and bars in North Carolina and many lodging establishments were required to be smoke-free, thanks to S.L 2009-27 (G. S. 130A-496), otherwise known as North Carolina’s Smoke-Free Restaurants and Bars Law (see Exceptions). On this site you will find information about the smoking ban, frequently asked questions, tools for businesses to respond to the law, and information for citizens. You can also come here for information on how to report a violation of the law.
